The Importance of Seeking Forgiveness on the 18th Day of Ramadan”
As we reach the 18th day of Ramadan, we are reminded of the importance of seeking forgiveness and turning to Allah for repentance. This day holds great significance in the month of Ramadan, as it is a time for reflection and self-improvement.
One of the most authentic Hadiths related to this day is narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), who reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
“Allah looks at His creation and forgives all of them except for those who are polytheists and mushriks.” (Ibn Majah)
This Hadith serves as a reminder that Allah is merciful and forgiving, and He gives us many opportunities to seek His forgiveness throughout the month of Ramadan. It is a time for us to reflect on our actions and seek forgiveness for any wrongdoings we may have committed.
Furthermore, this day is also an opportunity for us to increase our duas and seek Allah’s blessings. We can recite the dua of Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) and ask Allah to forgive our sins:
“Rabbi inni lima anzalta ilayya min khairin faqir”
“O my Lord! Truly, I am in need of whatever good that You bestow on me!” (Quran 28:24)
Additionally, we can also recite the dua of Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) and seek Allah’s mercy:
“La ilaha illa anta, subhanaka, inni kuntu min al-dhalimin”
“There is no god but You, Glorified be You! Truly, I have been of the wrongdoers.” (Quran 21:87)
As we continue on this blessed journey of Ramadan, let us take advantage of this day and seek Allah’s forgiveness and mercy. May Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and duas, and grant us His blessings and forgiveness. Ameen.
